President Donald Trump is sending Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to Ukraine to meet with Ukrainian President Zelenskiy.
The issues raised will likely be monetary theft and corruption of American aid. In addition, the peace process underway will require Ukraine to submit to providing America with $500B of rare earth minerals according to Trump, in return for additional U.S. aid.
Yesterday, Russia released a prisoner, Marc Fogel, who was imprisoned for 3 years on a marijuana conviction, in a sign of good faith. Trump envoy Steve Witkoff traveled to Moscow for the release.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed his strategic plan for ordering the risky Kursk offensive which began last August, and has resulted in Ukraine forces holding hundreds of square kilometers of Russian territory for the past six months. reported Zero Hedge.
Zelensky said in comments published Tuesday that he's ready to swap territory with Russia as part of a deal to end the war. He described that if President Trump gets the warring sides to the negotiating table, "We will swap one territory for another."
The Ukrainian leader when asked in The Guardian interview precisely which territories Kiev would demand back, he responded: "I don’t know, we will see. But all our territories are important, there is no priority." Obviously he has the four annexed eastern territories in mind.
This stance is delusional. Ukraine is losing a kilometer a day on the battlefields in the East. In all likelihood, it is Russia who will demand their terms in this negotiation.
However, Trump has many carrots to offer as well.
China is collapsing internally, and the Trump tariff threat will only add gasoline to this fire.
Trump can provide sanctions relief in a bid to begin to claw Russia back into the Western orbit, away from Beijing and Iran.
Energy pricing is also an issue for the Kremlin. Trump could even offer to allow the Nordstream II pipeline to be restarted to Germany, which would also help the German economy.
Reports are also in the Eastern European media that Zelenskiy will be removed by NATO in a coming electoral process. The Ukrainian leader's corruption and illegitimacy is a problem for The White House and NATO.
