A greater war in the Middle East is looking possible as the political situation of Turkish President Recep Erdogan, and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu both look precarious.

Are we going to wag the dog?

Erdogan is facing massive demonstrations at home against his government after the arrest of the mayor of Istanbul (Erdogan's primary opposition figure). Ankara is blaming Jerusalem for instigating the continuous riots.

The installation of the former Al Qaeda member Golani as the leader of Syria was supported by Turkish forces, and was a long-time goal of former Biden administration officials. Former Blackwater CEO Erik Prince declared on a recent podcast that the operation was 'engineered by Turkish special forces and drones.'

Golani's government allowed the massacre of thousands of Christians and other minorities in recent weeks.

The Syrian Government is in 'advanced talks' with Turkey to hand over parts of the country, reportedly near Palmyra, to the Turkish military, reported regional news.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold an emergency meeting, and has been telling press that a direct Israeli-Turkish confrontation in Syria is 'almost certain'.

The Netanyahu government is in the middle of 'Qatargate', a scandal over alleged payments to the Israeli leader by Qatar, a declared supporter of Hamas in Gaza by Israeli intelligence.

CDM will report more on the intricacies behind 'Qatargate' today.

Trump's Envoy Witkoff declared on a recent interview with Tucker Carlson that, "Presiden Trump had a great conversation with Erdogan a couple of days ago -- really transformational I would describe it."

"I think it’s been underreported to tell you the truth.

"There’s just a lot of good positive news coming out of Turkey right now as a result of that conversation.

"I think you’ll see that in the reporting in the coming days."

The position of the Trump administration, while very publicly supportive of Israeli actions in Gaza, seems murky on the overall region. Perhaps that is intentional as Trump works to remove America from foreign wars.
