The obscure measure called De Minimis allowed direct shipments from any country to recipients in the U.S. of up to $800 to be shipped directly to American consumers without incurring import duties, customs declarations, or extensive inspections. It dates back to 1938.
Sounds nice - why not allow cheap stuff to move fast to Americans?
De Minimis had been perverted into a high speed, 10 lane freeway to steal American jobs and kill Americans by China and the Globalists.
Once again, President Trump showed that protecting Americans was simply a matter of leadership. For those who have common sense, this can be taken care of quickly. For Globalists who put Americans last and are so smart they are stupid, the answer cannot possibly be this simple. Once again the “experts” are shown to by lying liars who lie.
De Minimis had been abused in three deadly ways by China:
- “Temu-ing” the American Economy into addiction and destruction: China used Temu and Shein as their sweatshop providers to flood the American Consumer Zone with cheap products through De Minimis. Healthy, balanced, diversified large economies are based upon success in the little things. Manufacturing of small, consumer items in a competitive and innovative manner is foundational to the bigger things in the economy. Cheap Labor and artificially low prices drive down innovation. Why innovate when I can get incredibly low labor rates and cheap products? Between the H-1B Visa Scam which was destroying Americans by displacing them in America with cheap foreign labor, De Minimis was weaponized, cheap product designed to addict American consumers and destroy American innovation and manufacturing.
- Fentanyl: The Chinese Communist Party was laughing at us as they lied through their teeth on the contents of the packages of Fentanyl they mailed to America. We are no longer stupid and have shut this down.
- Gun Parts: Often totally mislabeled, or labeled as toy gun parts, China has flooded America with gun parts and other gun accessories. Don’t fall for the hysterical lies of the illiterate David Hoggs of the world as they shout “Ghost Guns”! They scream about 3D Guns, Gun Parts, and straw purchases, what ever those mean - but they never address China’s role in mailing gun parts into America. Why is that? Because they want America to be destroyed.
