The short story on what’s going on is that when Russia was on its knees in the 1990s, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright chose to step forward and kick them in the teeth.
Why would she do that? The Globalist Elite, many of whom had actually preened toward the Soviet Union during the Cold War now hated the Russians. Russia, Russian, Russia began in the 1990s, not 2016.
Maybe it was disappointment by the Globalist Elite that their fantasy of totalitarianism didn’t work out and they would now have to do it on their own.
Maybe Madeleine Albright was more focused on perfecting the Money Laundering model in Bosnia and Haiti?
What appears to be going on with Russia now is a Trump Administration effort to settle the War in Ukraine and peel off Russia from China. In 1972, Nixon/Kissinger thought they could peel off China from the Soviet Union. In the long run, it didn’t work out so well.
However this effort to peel off Russia from China has merit. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Let’s see where MAGA can take this.
