New Zealand is at 1.2% of GDP for Defense spend and makes Canada look like a Military Giant (Trudeau is at 1.4% of GDP). New Zealand has no fast jets, no long range missiles, and little ability to assert sovereignty
Australia is doing better at a solid 2%, but 5% of GDP for defense spend is the new 2%. The Aussies were still caught unaware.
Sovereign nations need to have the situational awareness and military force to assert sovereignty over their own front yard, otherwise, somebody else will.
