After 9/11, the United States and Russia cooperated heavily on intelligence sharing involving preventing terror attacks and detaining terrorists.

REPORT: Mohammad Sharifullah was arrested on March 2. He is accused of organizing an attack during the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan near the Kabul airport. Then a suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowd of Afghans trying to get to the airport, killing 13 American soldiers.

During interrogation by the FBI, Sharifullah also admitted to supporting and acting on behalf of the Wilayat Khorasan cell, the Justice Department said. Specifically, he admitted to providing instructions on how to use Kalashnikov assault rifles and other weapons to terrorists planning an attack on Crocus City Hall in Moscow.
