While President Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff is in Moscow, meeting with the Russian leadership, and before any joint US-Russian statement is released, and before any comments from President Trump on Russia's response, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy took to the airwaves to try and torpedo any progress The White House may be making with Moscow.
For the Kremlin's part, they declared they would agree to the 30-day ceasefire if some of their concerns were addressed. The Kremlin stated they were concerned this pause would simply give the Ukrainians time to rearm and regroup, and this would have to be dealt with in a way satisfactory to Russia.cd
Zelenskiy: Now we have all heard from Russia very predictable, very manipulative words from Putin in response to the idea of ceasefire on the front - he is actually preparing a refusal as of now. Putin, of course, is afraid to tell President Trump directly that he wants to continue this war, wants to kill Ukrainians.
We will continue to work with our American partners, with our European partners, with everyone in the world who wants peace, to force Russia to end the war.
