Russian influencer channels began yesterday putting out a theme -- 'It's Trump's war now...'
The theme began emerging after Donald Trump declared he will send 'defensive weapons' to Ukraine via his executive authority.
Reports now are emerging Trump plans to sell weapons to NATO countries who will deliver to Ukraine.
In any event, Moscow is definitely trying to paint the conflict now as 'Trump's war'.
One influencer channel wrote:
Reuters reports that Trump will provide a new package of military aid to Ukraine by his decree, and not the old package that was approved under Biden.
The cost of the new package is $300 million, and it will include SAMs for Patriots and missiles for HIMARS, but the exact composition will be formally determined by Trump himself.
‼️Thus, Trump has become a direct participant in the war.
His thesis "This is not my war, this is Biden's war" can now be flushed down the toilet.
US President Donald Trump stated on July 8 that he was "displeased with Putin," responding to questions from journalists. Trump also emphasized his personal readiness to consider imposing new sanctions on Russia. When referring to these potential new restrictions, he was presumably alluding to the sanctions bill proposed by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (designated by Russia as a terrorist and extremist). The draft bill, introduced in April, includes primary and secondary sanctions against Russia should it refuse to agree to a ceasefire, as well as the introduction of 500% tariffs on countries purchasing Russian oil, gas, uranium, and other energy resources. Experts interviewed by Vedomosti believe Trump’s sharpened rhetoric serves both to project strength to his domestic audience and to maintain leverage over Russia, while he cautiously avoids committing to direct confrontation, wrote Russian state media channel TASS.
Trump’s harsher tone remains largely symbolic for now as he seeks to avoid being portrayed as weak, Deputy Director of the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS) at the Higher School of Economics Dmitry Suslov told the newspaper. This stance likely does not imply a sharp increase in arms deliveries. "He would prefer this to remain Biden’s war, rather than becoming Trump’s war," the expert noted. However, should the US supply Kiev with a new Patriot missile battery, one not included in the aid packages approved under Biden, this conflict would then become Trump’s conflict, the expert added.
I have been a regular follower of The SCIF and other CDM media. It is a superb news/analysis site. However, I am somewhat amazed at the position LTodd Wood has taken recently to depict Trump's actions concerning Ukraine as irresponsible. I would suggest rather than assert that MAGA is opposed to Trump's intervention that occasional MAGA guests holding to a different view perhaps should be entertained in the spirit of an open and objective debate in such crucial times.
We have held this position since 2014. It is nothing new. We are very knowledgeable on the issue from time in-country. However, we will try and maybe hold some debates - that is a good idea. Thankyou.
