The European Union is rolling full steam ahead against internet access and the availability of free speech to its subjects.
We heard earlier in the week of the French raid on Elon Musk's X. The social media network formerly known as Twitter is the one bastion of free speech left on The Continent, and therefore the EU matrix is completely focused on shutting it down.
France has already blocked Rumble, a free speech alternative to Youtube in-country.
Now, France and Spain are going after access to the internet for children under certain ages as EU politicians couch the effort as 'protecting kids'.
Of course, it has nothing to do with building a new generation of subjects who've never had access to the truth.
Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez -- "Why do they want to control mobile phones? They want to control phones because they want to know what we read and what we see, so that later they can know — and control — what we vote.
"That is why, when we have made proposals that are simply common sense, with nothing ideological about them — proposals to give extra protection to children under 16 from all that vulgarity, those lies, that disinformation, that hatred and violence that so often appear on phones and digital devices — the response from those tech oligarchs has been hatred, lies, and more vulgarity.
"We cannot allow our young people — and not-so-young people — to live in a digital world where there is no law, only violence, lies, and disinformation. We must lead this battle, not surrender. And we must lead it both in Europe and in the world."
French President Macron -- "The average screen time for a teenager is 4 hours and 20 minutes per day. That’s insane — and you’re not supervising the content. When you let your children go on social media, you have absolutely no guarantee they won’t be exposed to extremely violent scenes.
"We are not going to delegate to parents alone the responsibility — and sometimes the pressure — of deciding whether, at age 12, it’s a good or bad idea to essentially hand one’s brain over to platforms. For me, before the age of 15, this is fundamentally a public health issue and an issue of protecting our children and our teenagers.

Australia became the first country to ban social media for users under 16, effective December 10, 2025, impacting platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X.
France has passed legislation banning children under 15 from using social media, which is now pending Senate approval.
Spain has announced plans to ban social media access for minors under 16 and will require age verification systems.
Denmark has agreed in principle to ban social media for those under 15, with parental consent allowed from age 13.
Greece, Slovenia, Italy, and Norway are all advancing legislation or pilot programs to restrict or regulate children’s social media use.
