The Six Mexican Cartels, MS-13, and Tren de Aragua made big money in Human Trafficking.
With President Trump shutting the border and declaring the eight groups as terrorist organizations, the game is on.
The Cartels now have lost their major revenue other than Fentanyl and their fighters are going unpaid.
Bad things happen when Cartel soldiers are not paid.
There have now been several incidents since December when Americans of Mexican heritage were killed inside of Mexico visiting relatives.
These attacks include
- Antonio Céspedes Saldierna ran over an IED in late February 2025 — which authorities suspect was planted by a drug cartel on his ranch in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The blast also killed Horacio Lopez Peña, and Lopez’s wife, Ninfa Griselda Ortega, sustained injuries and has been hospitalized.
- On December 30, 2024, Jesus Macias was killed when he failed to stop at improvised checkpoint set up by the drug cartels.
- On December 13, 2024, a U.S. Couple was shot and killed in Mexico.
- In December 2024, Vincente Peña Jr., from Chicago, was visiting family in Mexico. Peña, his brother Antonio Fernandez and another family member were shot and killed. Peña's teenage son is also now in a coma in a Mexican hospital.
There are likely more that have not been clearly communicated and reported.
The Cartel war against Americans has started, and will likely pick up the pace.
President Trump has vowed “ruthlessly, aggressive” actions to eradicate the threat by the cartels who are planning armed drone strikes on U.S. Border Patrol vehicles.
Buckle up - this one has barely started.
