The Cuban State Security Services were some of the most hard core thugs there were during Cold War Days.
They were so effective that the Cuban people largely gave up hope of any change. There were some recent protests by Cubans during the Bush/Obama/Autopen days, but these American Presidents were indifferent to their plight 90 miles to the south of partying at Key West, Florida and those Cuban protests were bloodily subdued.
Now the Cuban people are feeling hope.
Word of the total annihilation of the elite Cuban security forces protecting Maduro in Venezuela very possibly invigorated the Cuban population with hope as well as shocking the Cuban regime into fear of their own survival.
Word of talks between the Cuban Leaders and the Trump Administration likely has leaked out to the populace, further inspiring the Cuban people.
Once East Germans started showing up in mass around the Berlin Wall, the vaunted Stasi, the East German security services, saw the future and started hiding their uniforms and stopped showing up for work. Things fell apart pretty quickly.
Similar events may be happening in Cuba now. The big difference is that they know there is an American President who cares.
It will be glorious when the Cuban security forces hang up their uniforms and stop showing up for work, thus handing the country to the Cuban people.
It will be epic for Cuba and all of the Americas.
