Dr. Michelle Reid, Superintendent for Fairfax County, VA public schools is seeking an “Executive Protection Agent” to serve as her bodyguard while… running the county’s administration of education to… K-12 youth. This has to be an enormous threat, right?
Garnering $425K annually, Reid makes more than the President’s base salary of $400K, while Fairfax County teachers are paid as low as $23 an hour and grade their students’ homework after-hours without pay, and do it all over again every day.
Without articulable reason or threat, Reid is searching for a personal security detail that will reward a hired applicant between $80K - $144, depending on experience. While the U.S. outshines funding in spend-per-student—the rich are getting richer.
