Last month, KPLC TV news in St. Charles, Louisiana reported that the former mayor of DeRidder, Misty Roberts, was found guilty of felony indecent behavior with a juvenile and felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. The case took place in DeRidder court.
Roberts' was alleged to have had sex with a minor, 16, at a 2024 house party while she was mayor.
The news presenter said that the jury deliberated for about an hour before reaching their verdict.
Roberts' sentencing date is April 17.
