Last month, KTLA (Los Angeles) reported that an Orange County mother was facing felony charges, including involuntary manslaugher, after her 14-year-old son crashed his e-bike into an elderly, 81-year-old Vietnam veteran.
The 14-year-old is facing separate charges.
The veteran later died after the crash.
Prosecutors say that the mother was warned repeatedly about her son's dangerous behavior.
It was a hit-and-run crash.
The Orange County district attorney said, "This case should be a warning to ALL parents."
A memorial was created in memory of the victim.
