UPDATE: President Trump has announced the trade deal with China has been completed, giving the US access to rare earth metals, and continuing Chinese participation at US universities.
“We have reached a framework to implement the Geneva consensus and the call between the two presidents,” U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told reporters last evening, reported CNBC.
Financial markets are moving higher but the price of some commodities, like oil, dropped overnight.
Inflation also came in this morning less than expected, adding to market upside.
A Federal Appeals Court has ruled that Trump can continue to use tariffs as a means to protect its economy from foreign predatory behavior, pending litigation.
