Many analysts have wondered how President Trump achieved Arab support for the proposed peace deal with Hamas, yet to be accepted and enacted by the Palestinian group.

As part of efforts to end the Gaza war and as compensation to Qatar for the Israeli strike in Doha, Trump signed an executive order dramatically boosting US security commitments to Qatar, reported Axios.

“The United States will regard any armed attack on Qatar’s territory, sovereignty, or vital infrastructure as a threat to the peace and security of the United States.

In the event of such an attack, the United States will take all lawful and appropriate measures, including diplomatic, economic, and if necessary military, to protect the interests of the United States and Qatar and restore peace and stability.”

Qatar, Egypt and Turkey are urging Hamas to give a positive response to President Trump's proposal for ending the war in Gaza, according to two sources with knowledge of the talks, added Axios.

Now American boys and girls will be on the hook for defending a rich Gulf nation against Israel, which American supports to the tune of billions of dollars a year.

Perhaps The White House should explain clearly to the American public what is U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, in terms of priorities and use of American blood and treasure.
