BEIRUT, LEBANON - The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto met with the head of the Free Patriotic Movement in Lebanon Gebran Bassill this week, a meeting that focused on supporting Christian parties in both countries, where their leadership is under pressure.
Szijjarto is the longest serving foreign minister in the European Union.
Bassill is currently campaigning for re-election to his seat in the Lebanese parliament; the election is in 2026.
Szijjarto represents Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Alliance and also faces tough elections in 2026. The full weight of the globalist European Union is being felt by both Christian political parties.
Hungary is one of a few Eastern European nations that have pushed back against the mass immigration and subsequent destruction of culture and society that is pushed by Brussels.
We do not have good insight as to what was discussed but the just the fact that the meeting happened in a very public way shows the good relations between the two Christian political movements.
