Israel continued its bombing campaign in Lebanon today against the Iranian Shia proxy army Hezbollah, this time striking the Shia sector of Beirut. The majority of recent strikes since the end of the war before today have been in the south of the country against Hezbollah fortified positions.

The Israeli government is concerned Hezbollah is trying to reconstitute itself to return to threaten The Jewish State. Hezbollah forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of Israelis from the north of the country during the recent war and still possesses thousands of rockets and missiles for that effort.

A Senior U.S. official to Axios declared, "Israel did not notify us in advance about the strike. We were informed immediately after the strike was carried out."

A senior Israeli official said to Israeli media Channel 12 -- Hezbollah’s Chief of Staff is dead.

The blow Hezbollah is taking today is twofold and even multiplied. Not only was one of its senior military officials eliminated, but there is another dimension. Since the ceasefire began about a year ago, Hezbollah leaders have claimed that they learned their lessons and sealed the intelligence gaps that had allowed Israel to eliminate the organization’s entire top echelon, said Doron Peskin on X.

Today’s assassination makes Hezbollah’s claims look ridiculous, as the IDF is attempting—perhaps successfully—to eliminate one of the two remaining senior military commanders of the organization. If Hezbollah decides to respond to today’s assassination and is drawn into several days of fighting, it must take into account that the IDF has preserved its intelligence capabilities and will be able to lay its hands on the senior Shi’ite officials who survived the previous round.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee: The only thing worse than a Holocaust denier is an October 7th denier. It’s someone who pretends it doesn’t matter — that may be even worse." Huckabee has come under fire in the Western press for being too close to Israel, dictating Israeli policy to the Trump administration.

The following comments by Ambassador Huckabee were especially inflammatory to Christians worldwide.

"If we don’t stand with the Jewish people, then one day they’re going to come after us too.

"You can't be a Christian and not understand that your entire faith is built on the foundation of Judaism. For Christians, we look at this as an obligation, a moral debt that we must repay.

"I don’t understand anyone who says, “I’m a Christian, but I don’t really want to support the Jews.” How can you do that?"

A Christian source on the ground in Lebanon declared, "We feel deeply concerned, on the one hand we do understand the importance of Hezbollah surrendering their weapons, especially since the government unanimously decided that no military organizations can exist outside of the control of the state, and yet it is deeply concerning to have our borders and aerial space constantly and continuously violated by the Israelis and our citizens threatened with impunity.

"Furthermore, Israel is applying this pressure knowing full well that the Lebanese state cannot disarm Hezbollah by force without risking a civil war, which would be suicide, and it is refusing any official negotiations with the Lebanese government -whether direct or indirect- that could break the deadlock or quagmire that we all find ourselves embroiled in."
