UPDATE: The U.S. A-10 that crashed today was providing close air support for the search-and-rescue mission for the F-15E crew when it was hit by Iranian fire. 

The aircraft made it to Kuwait but crashed after the pilot ejected, reported ABC News.


UPDATE: The missing American fighter pilot has not yet been found, and search operations continue in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer-Ahmad.

Despite extensive U.S. efforts using jets, helicopters, and surveillance drones, no success has been reported.

Iranian security forces, military units, and local tribes are actively searching and say they have blocked enemy objectives.

Authorities urge the public to rely on official sources and report any information, reports Nour News.


UPDATE: Two U.S. rescue helicopters were hit by Iranian fire during an F-15 search jet today, all crew safe, reports NBC.

A rescue helicopter carrying a recovered pilot was hit by small arms fire, injuring crew members on board. Despite the damage, the helicopter landed safely, reported CBS.


UPDATE: One of the two crew members of the U.S. F-15E shot down over Iran has been rescued, while the search for the second continues, reports CBS.


UPDATE: *Unconfirmed:* Reports from Iran say an American helicopter was damaged by Iranian air defenses during the search for the downed American pilot.


UPDATE: Israeli Channel 12 claims that one of the crew members of the U.S. F-15E jet downed in Iran has been successfully rescued.


UPDATE: Axios confirms Iran has shot down a U.S. fighter jet. Search and rescue effort is underway to locate two crew.

Our staff at CDM contains several individuals training in USAF combat rescue and we can confirm these images show CSAR aircraft in action, validating Iranian claims of a pilot shoot down.

CENTCOM has not confirmed a shoot down or combat rescue in progress.

Some of the helicopters in the images/videoas are MH-60G USAF combat rescue aircraft, as well as HC-130 or MC-130 CSAR command and control, air refueling aircraft are shown and identified.

Iranian sources claim U.S. aircraf/helicopters deployed to rescue pilots from a downed F-15E fighter jet in Iran, combat search and rescue aircraft deployed.

Iran shows downed aircraft fragments, videos of alleged attempted rescue.

U.S. C-130 Hercules reportedly flying very low over Iran, deploying flares.  The U.S. forces are highly likely searching the pilots of downed F-15E jet, reports Clash Report.

F-35 jets and MQ-9 drones were also spotted supporting U.S. helicopters over Iran, searching for the pilots of downed F-15E jet.
