There is nowhere to hide, but there is a much bigger story - the real story is the Wild West behavior of the Maritime environment.

Last time I checked, it is the year 2026.
For some reason though, the commercial, international maritime environment behaves and acts like it is still the 1800s.
The maritime world operates in ways that are plain unacceptable in the world of international aviation.
Want to re-flag your ship multiple times a day while in transit? No problem.
Want to hold a poorly paid workforce on your ship in human trafficking conditions for months and years and decline to pay them until until the period of their service is complete? Why not - everyone else is doing it.
Want to fail multiple safety inspections and still be allowed to land and pick up cargo in ports including U.S. Ports? Throw the citation in the glove box and ignore it, no one is doing anything about it.
This type of behavior would not last 30 seconds in the aviation world, but for some reason, it receives a big ho hum in the maritime world.
Iran and Russia exist at this point in time because of poorly maintained Ghost Ships (often sanctioned), crewed largely under human trafficking conditions, moving sanctioned gas and oil, primarily to China at rates well below market prices.
The Iranian wing of this operation is about to receive attention no matter where it is. It is not just Iranian Ships - but any ships linked to Iran, regardless of Flag.
