Today, the 'negotiations' over peace in the Middle East have been difficult to say the least. The U.S. bombed Iranian positions in a 'defensive' move, and Iran responded by attacking an airbase in Kuwait that housed American troops. The missiles inbound to Kuwait were intercepted.
In Lebanon, Israel increased its offensive and threatened to once again bomb the Lebanese capital of Beirut.
Axios reported Trump comments to Netanyahu on his phone call today:
"You're f*cking crazy.
"You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your ass.
"Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this."
The leak to Axios seems intentional by The White House to make Trump's real feelings known to the public.
The official readout from The White House was much different than Axios reported:
Trump:
"There was a little glitch today — the Iranians were upset about Israel's attacks on Lebanon.
"So I spoke with Hezbollah and said no shooting, and I talked to Bibi and said no shooting, and they both stopped shooting each other.
"I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu today, asking him not to go into a major raid of Beirut, Lebanon.
"He turned his Troops around. Thank you Bibi! Likewise, Israel agreed to stop shooting at them.
"Let’s see how long that lasts — Hopefully it will be for ETERNITY!"
For his part, Netanyahu was adamant:
"I spoke this evening with President Trump and told him that if Hezbollah does not stop attacking our cities and our citizens, Israel will strike terrorist targets in Beirut.
"Our position on this remains unchanged.
"At the same time, the IDF will continue to operate as planned in southern Lebanon."
Israeli National Security Minister Ben Gvir was more forceful:
As was Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich:
"Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich:
"It's either us or them. There is no middle ground.
"We are killing the idea of a Palestinian state.
"The Palestinian Authority needs to be dismantled. The lines of Areas A, B, and C need to be erased.
"The Oslo Accords — this terrible disaster — need to be erased.
"We need to take control of the entire territory."
I can't believe Trump dared to stand up to his master. Next assassination attempt in 5,4,3,2...
Quite the opposite. Trump bows to No Man.
Don’t believe everything you read. Israel will use self defense, but their self defense is interpreted as an OFFENSE, and so it goes…..
