The U.S. Department of Interior is advancing the restoration of historic names honoring American greatness, including Mt McKinley in Alaska, and the 'Gulf of America'.

Many wonder if the recent renaming of military bases away from Southern military figures will also be reversed.

For instance, the 'Reconciliation Monument' at the United States Military Academy at West Point was removed. Iconic U.S. military installations like Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, Fort Benning and others saw their official names changed due to the association with American civil war opposition military leaders in the South.

The bases were named for Southern officers in an attempt to reconcile the North and South after the War Between the States in the Mid-eighteen hundreds.
