President Trump fied DHS Secretary Kristi Noem today, and nominated Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin to replace her.
President Trump said Thursday that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem lied to Congress about getting his approval for a $220 million ad campaign featuring herself.
“I never knew anything about it,” Trump told Reuters.

Two sources close to the White House told The Post that Trump is furious that Noem testified that he approved of the ads — and set in motion his later move to fire her, reported New York Post.
Congressional hearings (e.g., with Sen. John Kennedy) specifically grilled her about spending taxpayer money on TV ads that "feature you prominently" or where she "stars" in them. Reports describe her as being "featured prominently," including scenes of her in cowboy attire addressing the camera directly.
This drew bipartisan criticism in Senate oversight sessions, with questions about the ads' purpose (e.g., boosting her name recognition) and ties to contractors linked to her team.
In other words, Trump fired her for bad judgement.

Instead of firing Noem for showing "bad judgement" (and she does show bad judgement, all the time - ask South Dakotans) - I mean, he shows bad judgement all the time - could it really be because she revealed something he didn't want known???
