President Trump heads to the United Nations General Assembly this week to declare to the globalist establishment that America is back, playing by its own rules.
US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz spoke with Breitbart News in an exclusive preview of what President Trump will say when he speaks at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday in New York City. His words will be familiar to those who voted for Trump’s “America First” agenda, a major threat to the establishment of the UN, comprised of cocktail-party attending foreign diplomats.
“From the president’s perspective, you’re going to hear a lot of what you heard for his entire time in office; about sovereignty, about pushing back on a globalist agenda, about the peace deals that he has helped craft over the last year — eight and counting — and some that we still have in the works,” Waltz told Breitbart News Saturday.
Eight peace agreements in roughly one year. That is not a typo. While the corporate press spent the last decade telling Americans that Trump was a dangerous loose cannon who would blow up the world, he has been quietly stacking diplomatic wins that would have earned three Nobel Peace Prize nominations from anyone else.
“That’s why we’re here,” said Waltz. “I know a lot of your listeners are saying, ‘Why do we even bother with this crazy place?’ I get it. But it’s one of those things — if we didn’t invent it, somebody else would without us. And I don’t want to see 192 countries out there trying to make the rules of the world without the United States of America, without President Trump’s leadership.”
The ambassador also noted that President Trump will address the war in Ukraine — “the largest land war in Europe that never should have happened, that started under Joe Biden.” That framing matters. The conflict grew from decades of provocation and deliberate NATO expansion. Trump’s push to end it rather than fuel it remains the right call.
On Iran, the message is direct: Waltz confirmed the world will hear that “the Iranian regime can never have a nuclear weapon,” and that UNGA represents another moment to build diplomatic pressure toward a permanent resolution. The goal is a real deal — not endless military operations.
Beyond the headline geopolitical battles, the Trump team is also working on strategic infrastructure that rarely makes the evening news. Waltz previewed that Trump will raise the issue of undersea data cables — the fiber lines carrying ninety percent of global internet traffic — and the threat from hostile powers looking to dominate them. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will separately engage on Arctic shipping routes that could reshape global trade and bypass traditional choke points from the Panama Canal to the Strait of Hormuz.
“For too long — administration after administration, frankly, on both sides of the aisles — we have just been absent at the table,” Waltz said. “And I can tell you, I’m in there. We’re fighting and winning, and the president’s got a great team around.”
The UN General Assembly high-level debate runs September 22–28. Bilateral meetings are stacking up, including a sit-down with French President Macron and potential diplomatic contact with Gulf leaders. Every encounter will carry Trump’s core message: sovereignty first, peace through strength, and no more blank checks for globalist adventures that leave American interests behind.
