The 2016 democratic presidential campaign saw emphasis on Islamophobia and boisterous defenses of Islam and Islamic nations. Celebrities jumped on the bandwagon and sang praises to Dubai and other popular VACATION destinations. Will Smith was outspoken in the press as a huge defender of Islamic culture. In the 2016 presidential election, he challenged Islamophobia during an interview while visiting Dubai on a movie promotion tour:

“Smith, who plays the sharpshooter Deadshot in the film, said he's having fun and tweeting pictures of his time in Dubai, showing that "Hey, it doesn't look like they hate me, does it?" "In terms of Islamophobia in America, for me that's why it's important to show up," he said. He encouraged local film makers and producers to find more ways to tell the story of the region to the world. "The Middle East can't allow Fox News to be the arbiter of the imagery, you know. So cinema is a huge way to be able to deliver the truth of the soul of a place to a global audience," he said. Smith also spoke about the upcoming U.S. presidential elections, saying he believes it's important "to speak out about the insanity" surrounding the race.”1

Cosmopolitan published “A Compilation of Will Smith’s best moments in Dubai” in April 2022. “As we already know, Will Smith is no stranger to the spotlight, so it comes as no surprise that the controversial actor loves visiting Dubai from time to time. I mean, after all, Dubai does know how to treat its guests like royalty, especially when they are among the most famous actors in Hollywood.”

Will Smith even reportedly fled the US to Dubai to escape criticism after the infamous 2022 Chris Rock ‘slap.’ It seems Will Smith and his family love going to Dubai. They are not alone. Tabloids frequently publish lists of celebs spotted in Dubai on vacation.

There is however, a problem. Dubai is a part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As of 2023, the UAE was in a select group of nations that still has a death penalty for homosexuality and other LGTBQ+ behaviors:

 Afghanistan

 Brunei

 Iran

 Mauritania

 Nigeria

Qatar (home of 2022 FIFA World Cup)

 Saudi Arabia

 Somalia

 Uganda

 UAE

 Yemen

For celebrities like Will Smith, the problem goes deeper. Will’s kids are LGTBQ+: Jayden is queer and Willow identifies as bisexual.

Celebrities are outspoken, especially during PRIDE month, condemning the evil policies and climate of the United States, yet continue to praise and spend exorbitant amounts of money on their lavish vacations to Dubai and other Middle Eastern countries that still put LGTBQ+ to the sword (ie execution).

This contradiction is too glaring to ignore. It highlights how they likely never actually believed in ‘Islamophobia’ in 2016 just as they don’t truly believe in LGTBQ+ agendas in 2023. These causes are most likely just playthings of the moment used to get blue votes and further the destruction of freedom of speech, capitalism, and everything else about America that they benefitted from to amass their insane wealth while they condemn America’s foundations.
