The White House has confirmed that additional tariffs will be implemented on Chinese imported goods starting tomorrow at a total of 104%. An additional 50% was added to China due to Beijing's retaliatory tariffs of 34% announced after Trump's 'Liberation Day' announcement a few days ago.
The White House has confirmed that the additional tariffs on China will go into effect on April 9.
The White House also touted the American worker's ability to make iPhones and other high-tech products, along with lower-end manufacturing like textiles.
Chinese military activity has increased around the Republic of China, otherwise known as Taiwan.
Financial markets decreased on the news.
The White House verified that it will cut deals on the tariffs if it benefits the American worker, and helps to bring down persistent trade deficits, saying over 70 countries have reached out to make such deals.
