With the understanding that many European leaders are working for the Chinese Communist Party and its efforts at global hegemony, and its efforts to weaken the United States, the European anger at the Trump administration's focus on Greenland, in order to strengthen America's strategic options, is completely understandable.
However, that doesn't mean European leaders in Beijing's pocket like it, and they have been very vocal condemning American overtures to Greenland in recent days as Vice President Vance tours the country.
In response, the Trump administration stepped up the pressure, and a new video recalling U.S. military support for Greenland during WWII and honoring the sacrifice of four American chaplains.
The clip warns of modern threats from Russia and China.
Ends with a message: “America stands with Greenland.”
While speaking in Greenland, Vance remarked:
"Our message to Denmark is very simple. You have not done a good job by the people of Greenland. You have under invested in the people of Greenland and in the security architecture of this incredible, beautiful land mass. This must change."
"Denmark's leadership has failed the people of Greenland, and their bullying tactics won't change that. Investment in Greenland's security is in America's best interest, and it will continue under President Trump.
“We can't just bury our head in the sand — or, in Greenland, bury our head in the snow — and pretend that the Chinese are not interested in this very large landmass. We know that they are.”
