Germany has famously and intentionally destroyed its economy by turning off its nuclear power plants in favor of unreliable 'renewable' energy as part of the 'climate change' charade.
However, in a change of heart by Germany, it has ended its opposition to nuclear power in a major shift under Chancellor Friedrich Merz, agreeing to support French efforts to treat nuclear power on par with renewables in EU legislation.
“This will be a sea-change policy shift,” said a German official, while a senior French diplomat noted that “all the biases against nuclear power” in EU laws will be removed, reports FT.
French President Macron has made headlines with his reference to French nuclear weapons in building deterrence for the EU against Russia. Berlin wants to cooperate with that effort, said a German official.
“We are now actually finally open to talk to France about nuclear deterrence for Europe. Better late than never.”
