The Kremlin today said it supporting a meeting between Trump, Putin, and Zelenskiy to push for an end to the conflict, but declared some conditions had to be met first.
"Putin has repeatedly said that he is fundamentally in favor of high-level contacts, which are certainly needed, but they must be prepared, and results must first be achieved in direct negotiations between the delegations of the two countries beforehand. If such results are achieved, and when they are achieved, then, of course, there may be talk of high-level contacts," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, reported Russian state news agency TASS.
The Russian delegation will travel to Istanbul as a new round of negotiations with Kiev may start on June 2.
