Today, President Trump announced during a press briefing at The White House that the U.S. had seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezeula. The tanker was sanctioned according to the U.S. government.
Trump -- "We have just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela. Large tanker, largest one ever seized actually. It was seized for a very good reason."
Venezuelan President Maduro declared today, "From Venezuela, we demand an end to U.S. intervention in our country and in Latin America. No more regime change, coups, or invasions.I say to the people of Colombia: sooner rather than later, we must refound the country of Gran Colombia. No more Vietnam! No more Somalia! No more Iraq! No more Afghanistan! No more Libya!
On Tuesday, Trump told Politico that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro's "days are numbered".
Trump was asked whether the U.S. could send in troops on the ground. The president said, "I don't comment on that."
"I wouldn't say that one way or the other," he said, going on to criticize Maduro.
