Earlier this year in the Los Angeles area, a 12-year-old girl died after being hit in the head with a metal water bottle in her school. The girl had three surgeries prior to her death. She was reported to have died after a brain hemorrhage.

Later, the LA police started investigating the incident as a homicide.

The girl was trying to protect her older sister from bullies at the school.

A juvenile was later arrested on suspicion of murder.

According to the news presenter, the family is now suing the school district alleging that reports of previous bullying on campus were not investigated, failed to supervise students, and failed to implement safety measures.
