[Beirut, Lebanon] - Christian leaders in Lebanon are sounding the alarm regarding possible attack by Syrian Sunni forces across the border to the east, as America focuses on disarming the Shia proxy army Hezbollah and other factions in-country.
Palestinian factions were filmed today being disarmed by the Lebanese Army in Beirut’s Burj al-Barajneh camp.
Fatah handed over a cache of weapons, including machine guns, rockets, and ammo, though Hamas and Islamic Jihad refuse to disarm, calling their arms essential to the Palestinian cause.
Gebran Bassil, the leader of Lebanon's largest Christian party, the Free Patriotic Movement, was interviewed today and warned against a Syrian invasion by ISIS Jihadi forces. He also pushed for integrating Hezbollah weaponry into Lebanese security forces.
Bassil is still sanctioned by the United States for aligning with Hezbollah in the past. He states it was obviously done for self preservation of the Lebanese Christian community against ISIS Sunni massacre.
Thousands of Christians and other minorities in southern Syria were slaughtered by Sunni jihadist militants upon the fall of the Assad regime.

Hezbollah has lost its strongest Christian ally
Gebran Bassil: Hezbollah did not uphold our agreement with them.
The head of the Free Patriotic Movement also gave an interview yesterday to the Saudi channel Al Arabiya (which also interviewed the head of the Maronite community). In the interview, he “revealed” why the movement no longer stands by Hezbollah.
According to him, Hezbollah and the movement had an agreement that Hezbollah’s weapons would only be used for “defensive” purposes. The moment those weapons became offensive, the agreement was broken. Beyond that, he reiterated what he had said before—that the weapons have become a burden on the state, Hezbollah must be disarmed, and the government’s authority must be obeyed.
He added that unlike [Samir] Geagea, he opposes confronting Hezbollah by force, but he condemns Hezbollah’s calls for civil war.
Hezbollah has definitively lost its strongest Christian ally, and the gap between Bassil and Geagea has narrowed significantly.

Meanwhile, Israeli strikes hit Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon near the city of Tyre. Jerusalem wants Hezbollah, a Shia Iranian proxy force, to be removed from their northern border.
Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar sent a letter to Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio, stating that Israel's position is that the UNIFIL mandate in Lebanon should be ended, and that their presence is no longer required.
UNIFIL is the peacekeeping force made up of approximately 10,000 foreign soldiers that patrol southern Lebanon along the Israeli buffer zone.
"Putting Lebanese villagers against IDF is risky," said one Christian source in Lebanon.
"The risk of civil war in Lebanon is low as Hezbollah and the Army will avoid any conflict between them but the risk of cross border attack from Syria is very high," he added.
"There are alot of Shiite and Christian villages there (including one Armenian) so it can turn into massacre. The army alone cannot stop them, Hezbollah can because they operate in the same area -Leb-Syria border in the direction of the Bekaa valley.
"Apart from the attack cross border, there are 2 million syrian refugees in the bekaa valley who are refusing to leave and these also can help the attacking forces."
Among these 2 million Sunni refugees, are possibly thousands of terror cells waiting to act.
