President Trump's Ambassador to Turkey, and the Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack today posted thoughts on X describing the administration's success in 'weaving the Damascus rug' of different 'constituencies'.
There was just one problem. Barrack left out the Christian community.
The apostolic Christian community in the Levant is ancient and heralds back to Christ's crucifixion. American policy in Iraq and Syria has decimated this community.
The Lebanese Christian community has been vocal about Barrack's apparent lack of attention to the Christian occupants of the Levant when it comes to his comments on regional politics.
"We're not surprised, Tom Barrack has repeatedly acted in what has seemed to be in the best interests of the Sunnis in the region as well as in the interests of their backers like Saudi or Turkey. He is clearly showing a lack of interest in the fate of the most ancient Christian community in the world that is left under pressure from strong muslim expansionism," declared a source from Christian leadership in Beirut.
