Confusion reigns in the Persian Gulf as conflicting reports over the status of the Strait of Hormuz persist as negotiations continue, with a second round of talks now being discussed.

About 20 ships waiting to enter the Persian Gulf through the maritime chokepoint have turned back toward Oman after Iran’s military declared the waterway closed again, amid a U.S. blockade of Iranian ports.

The OSINT community on X is reporting a Hormuz closure as well..., reports Zero Hedge.

Commercial vessels are receiving radio messages from the Iranian Navy ordering the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and prohibiting any ship from passing, reports Al Jazeera.

Iran has not agreed to the next round of talks with the U.S. yet, citing U.S. pressure (including Trump’s naval blockade statement) and what it calls unreasonable demands.  Iran says it will only continue negotiations if those demands stop, and has sent this message via a Pakistani intermediary, reports Tasnim.

President Trump declared on Air Force One that he may have to start bombing Iran again to get nuclear material.

Another choke point may also be developing. The U.S. aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford has entered the Red Sea, accompanied by two destroyers, reports AP.
