The U.S. said it struck Iranian military targets after Iran downed a U.S. drone. Iran responded by targeting a U.S.-used air base in Kuwait.

The U.S. military has quietly coordinated the safe passage of about 70 commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz over the past three weeks, according to U.S. officials. Most vessels traveled with their tracking systems turned off and followed routes away from Iran’s coastline to reduce the risk of drone or missile attacks, reported NYT.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared today, "The ceasefire between Iran and the US is unequivocally a ceasefire on all fronts, including in Lebanon. Its violation on one front is a violation of the ceasefire on all fronts. The US and Israel are responsible for the consequences of any violation.

"The opposing party constantly changes its stance, raises new or contradictory demands, and issues different, contradictory, and inconsistent messages in the media — it is natural that this situation prolongs the negotiation process.

"One of the very clear reasons for the recent escalation of crimes by the Zionist regime in Lebanon can be nothing other than the destruction of any possibility, any glimmer of hope, that diplomatic efforts might lead to some improvement in the situation.

"We cannot view the US and the Zionist regime as two separate entities.

"Whatever is happening in Lebanon, whatever has happened in our region — the United States is undoubtedly a constant participant.

"The US is held responsible for the consequences and repercussions of its unconditional support for the Zionist regime."

Iran's IRGC claims to have shot down a US MQ-1 drone in the early hours of June 1, using what it describes as a new air defense system.
