On Monday evening, the Republican-led House of Representatives voted 221-210 to repeal funding for 87,000 IRS agents. The measure will still need to be passed by the Senate to take effect.
The 'Inflation Reduction Act' would give $79.6 billion to the IRS over the next 10 years for the government body to hire some 87,000 agents.
It has been reported by multiple sources that the additional army of agents would target the middle and upper-middle class. A recent analysis found that the IRS audits the poor at 5 times the rate of all other socioeconomic classes.
The bill to rescind the IRS funding was the first measure to be passed by the new House and newly elected House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, celebrated, saying, "Promises made," as he dropped the gavel.

In addition to the bill repealing IRS funding, the House also passed a 55-page Rules Package with a 220-213 vote. According to a Tweet from McCarthy regarding the Rules Package some of the new rules include empowering members to debate, and increasing transparency.
Despite 15 votes to elect a Speaker, the new House has wasted no time getting down to business. The IRS funding repeal measure will not survive the Senate the way McCarthy survived the voting process.
So this is all performative.
They know it's all Kabuki theater. It will NOT pass in the Senate.

They all blamed President Trump for not gaining as much ground as they should have but if you’ve been keeping up with everything that keeps coming to light, Republicans should have control of the Senate and House with a much higher Republican to Democrat ratio.
Republicans definitely have a fight on their hands if they are too make sure voters get some results from all the investigations and impeachment’s they have been promising.
They don’t have a lot of time fighting so many corrupt democrats and RINOS. I hope they don’t take this small win of the House as a huge victory so they can just sit back and play nice. Republicans really need to pull out all stops, work together for results and not forget that their biggest problem that needs the most attention is election fraud. If they waste time and don’t make some real changes by eliminating many of the avenues Democrats use in stealing every election Republicans won’t have a chance in 2024 and that’s unfortunately more important than going after many of the people that are going to be loosing battles.
The only hope the republican house has of accomplishment is to expose the truth of every dirty deed the democrats have done to the public despite the MSM's resistance. This will give them the exposure and boost they need in 2024. Then the actions that we want can become reality.
