Woke KTLA (channel 5) in Los Angeles recently ran a news segment entitled "Red alert in deep-blue California: Republican Steve Hilton surges into first in race for governor".
Steve Hilton has been a political commentator and advisor, and a contributor to Fox News.
Nikki Laurenzo, host of "Inside California Politics", said, "We are seeing these Republicans really lead these polls. I get the question all of the time, "Are we going to see a Republican governor in California?"

The primary is on June 2, 2026 with the election in November.

Steve Hilton earlier blasted his GOP rival Chad Bianco for taking a knee for BLM.
"Just today, gas, $6.91, in downtown LA," said Hilton. "We can't go on like this."
