Less than 72 hours after President Trump announced an agreement to bring Russian diesel to American and global markets, a group of bipartisan senators on Sunday called on the President to reverse the decision. Brussels is quickly lining up behind the senators who are demanding that the President undo what he has done.
On October 9, Trump announced on Truth Social that Russian diesel would immediately begin to flow to the U.S. and then globally, including in the form of 300,000 tons of diesel fuel in the first delivery, 1 million tons in November and up to 3 million tons after that depending on how the Russian refineries are doing, as reported by USA Today. The Treasury Department in the meanwhile issued a notice to temporarily lift sanctions on Russian oil through to April 7, 2027, as reported by USA Today. With diesel currently selling nationally at over $6 per gallon, the move comes ahead of the midterm elections on November 3.
A bipartisan group of senators are calling on President Trump to “immediately reverse course” on the deal, according to Reuters. They say the deal may violate a 2022 law barring Russian energy imports until Moscow ends its war on Ukraine. Politico and CNN report the signers are Republicans Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Thom Tillis and John Curtis and Democratic Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, Richard Blumenthal and Ron Wyden.
This is how Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), who is leaving the Senate, views the matter on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday. “I do believe there’s a legitimate case for saying the president’s not following the law,” he said. “I believe that he may be” in violation of the statute. And then there is the matter of the funding Tillis wants to see for military action and for what the Senate will do for the remainder of the fiscal year. “The president needs to understand this is a problem,” Tillis said.
Tillis avoided using the word. Instead, he chose to reference the budget. The word did come from the other side of the Capitol one day prior though. Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA), the top ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, told CNN's Newsroom on Saturday about the war, "The only way to end this war is to remove Donald Trump from office." He was asked by host Jessica Dean if he meant impeachment or an election and Smith replied, "I think it has to be impeachment,” and added, “we can't wait two years." Smith was discussing the war, according to a transcript published by Breitbart, and the quoted remarks do not mention the diesel relief plan.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said that suspending the sanctions on Russian diesel “provides Moscow with more revenues to wage war. This is not the time to ease pressure on Russia, and Europe won’t,” according to Bloomberg. European officials are now telling the American president how to run the American energy policy.
In a social media post on Monday, Trump wrote, “I made the right choice for the American People — ALWAYS, AMERICA FIRST!”, as reported by Reuters. He has also said Ukraine needs a new president, and on Sunday he declared that Russia and Ukraine had agreed not to attack each other’s energy infrastructure. How long that ceasefire will last is unclear.
Putting all of this together, we have a policy that even its sharpest critic says only “may” be illegal, a president accused of lawlessness, and a call to remove him from office. Impeachment is a constitutional remedy for a president’s high crimes and misdemeanors. It is not a means to continue waging a war or to punish a price-relief deal that “may” be against the law. Using impeachment to try to force a sitting president off a policy he himself has devised is a coup. And with the midterms only 22 days away, it will be perceived by many Americans that way as well.
It is also obvious these 'Senators' are colluding with globalist Europe.
It is not clear whether or not the Treasury Department’s license will withstand such challenges, but for now it remains in effect. For now, a coalition of senators, foreign capitals and Washington institutions opposed to the president’s agenda for years has rejoined the fight against the president. And for now, to the eyes of many Americans, that looks like an effort to stop a president from governing.

There is ABSOLUTELY NOYHING ' bipartisan' about this gaggle of gouls
