The more 'pro-indepdendence' party, the DPP, has won the elections in Taiwan.
CDM/AFP covered the election here in our Pacific SitRep show last night.
China had made clear its opposition to winning candidate Lai Ching-te in an election it had described as a choice between war and peace, reported Newsweek.
The election pitted Lai of the Beijing-skeptic ruling party against New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih of main opposition party the Kuomintang (KMT) and Ko Wen-je, former Taipei mayor and founder of the upstart Taiwan People's Party.
Thank God the KMT lost the Taiwan election or that would have been a soft takeover of Taiwan by the Chicoms.
