The President informed the American public in a post on Truth Social late on Thursday that there would be no attack on Iran prior to the November 3rd US midterm elections. "We will not be attacking Iran at any time prior to the Midterm Elections to be held in the United States on November 3rd," he wrote.

Trump said in his post that the United States was having "productive discussions" with Iran and noted the country was "in very bad condition, both Economically and Militarily," and the U.S. blockade of the country "will remain in full force and effect" and added that oil is flowing through the Strait of Hormuz in record numbers, 22 million barrels last night alone, with not one barrel coming from, or going to, Iran. He closed with the line, "IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!"

The president's statement came as reports surfaced of the White House requesting the Pentagon to come up with strike options against Iran prior to the election. The statement comes as a shaky ceasefire, in place since April, continues to hold after the large-scale US air campaign against Iran this spring.

All 12 B-1B Lancer bombers deployed to RAF Fairford in England have returned to their home bases across the United States, the Pentagon and U.S. European Command said, after departing on Oct. 4, about a week after British police arrested suspects near the base in connection with a suspected plot against it. The B-1s can still deliver precision global strike from the continental United States, as B-1, B-2 and B-52 crews did during the recent operations against Iran.

The message of the President remains the same: of pressure without military action. In the meantime, the blockade is being kept in place, talks are being held, and the military is ready for a strike if that is what the President decides to do. In short, Trump's position remains the same: Iran will not be allowed to build a nuclear weapon.
