President Trump fired another shot at the AI establishment last week, with the creation of a new government entity called the “AI Force” which will be modeled off of the US Space Force he created during his first term as President. The President said he will also appoint an “AI Czar” to oversee the development of artificial intelligence in the country.
Trump said on Saturday that the current crusade to slow down or even destroy American AI is another “hoax” created by the Democrat Party in order to destroy the country. Just as with their previous “hoaxes” such as blaming Russia for everything, then switching to blaming Ukraine for everything, then Global Warming, and the two Impeachment Hoaxes created by the Radical Left Dumocrats in order to try to take down a perfectly fine US President and destroy the country, Trump says that the current crusade to slow down or even destroy American AI is a “manufactured panic” over “decimation or destruction” of AI that is currently being put into place in the US in order to propel the country to the next Industrial Revolution that will see the US AI industry grow to 25% of the US GDP.
Trump, in the post, called out a recent initiative by a number of high-profile individuals in the tech industry, as well as politicians, to put a pause on the development of AI in order to ensure that it is developed safely. He said that the efforts of the likes of Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, were a “Market Fixing” ploy to advance the interests of those involved in the development of AI. He said that the next Industrial Revolution was at hand, and that AI would make up 25% of the U.S. GDP.
That AI Czar Trump is looking for will, of course, have to be a “high IQ individual”.
The post on X, a platform where Trump has become increasingly active, asked users to pick from among three alternative monikers for the burgeoning field of technology: Superior Intelligence (SI), Extreme Intelligence (EI), or Supreme Intelligence (no acronym necessary). As of this writing, the hashtag #SuperiorIntelligence is blowing up across social media, with many users commenting simply “American Intelligence” would be sufficient.
This is Trump policy wrapped in a culture war that he can wage more effectively than the establishment media or the Silicon Valley board rooms. While they are worried about the safety of AI and set up committees to discuss global governance of AI, the President is going in the opposite direction, trying to build a lead in AI and have America be number one in the world of technology rather than number two behind China.
The real race to harness AI for military dominance is between the US and China. Beijing is not pausing to hold safety committee meetings. Beijing is building.
